• As "(Dr.) Cornelius Spegel" Wood published a letter to the editor in Film Comment, March 1973, Volume 9, No. 2, page 70. The substance of the letter was to call attention to criticisms of Wood's work made by George Kaplan (also Robin Wood) in an earlier issue that could be applied to his book on Bergman. In fractured English, the "Swedish" doctor also defends Andrew Sarris and takes a swipe at John Simon. The letter can be read at the Hitchcock Journals Article Project.
